They are immune to competitive pressures and have legal protection from competition and anti-trust law.
Isn't a touch more accurate to say that they have LIMITED exemption from anti-trust law? To not say otherwise might give the impression that it's a full or blanket immunity which as i know it does not exist under current Federal Law. If they did get full immunity, I'd sure like to read the P.L. (Public Law) or U.S.C. (United States Code) on that, if you could cite it.
