Thumbs down Ethiad guest refusing to add miles

Myself and my family travelled with Etihad in oct 2011. Our youngest child was not yet added to our account as an Etihad guest. The first time I travelled I was not yet a guest either and I was able to add my miles at a later date. I double checked when I got to the airport at check in and was told I could register him within 6 months of travel and get his miles. So I tried this last week. However I have been informed that Etihad have changed their policy and miles can no longer be added unless the passenger was an Etihad guest at time of travel. This policy changed in November and as I said we travelled in October. If I had of been told at check-in that this was the case I just could have set up an account for him online at the time. But the staff failed to notify me of this new rule. I phoned them the other day and they sent a 'special request' off for me but I have just received a rejection email to my sons account. I am highly disappointed with this service and apart from the fact that I have booked to travel with them again this October I will be looking into traveling with alternative airlines in the future. Aside from the above complaint, we ordered a special diet meal for my son on both the outward and inward flights an this was not provided. Almost €600 on a return flight for a 3 year old and they couldn't even provide him with a meal to suit his dietary needs. I asked for bread for him instead but apparently they had limited supplies and the bread was only to go with the soup . Really really disappointed in their customer care
