Don´t ever fly with Mexicana Aerolineas de Mexico if you are not a Mexican. Their ground staff is more ignorant than any cow.

We were on a returning holliday travel from Europe to Honduras where we have residence status, working for an NGO. The leg with Mexicana was from Mexico to Salvador.

They alleged, that we have to prove that we have a return ticket to wherever (even our travel beeing itself the returnflight), and didnt want to let my wife board the plane. They even confiscated her boarding pass the other airline already handed us out for the ongoing flight.

Later they told us this return ticket is a legal demand of imigration in San Salvador were our connection was heading for!
This demand is FALSE, because San Salvador doesnt ask for any comprabation that the tourist will leave the country as I later asked the imigration officer in Salvador Airport.

This shows how ignorant the ground personal of Mexicana is. My advice ask THEM to proof their allegations.

Even so Mexicana only allowed us to board this plane and continue our travel when we buy a return ticket from Salvador to Mexico. So we did it but will file them on a local court to get this ticket refunded.

I will never book again with this airline and thinking about not travelling either to Mexico itself. If they want tourists then go for it. There are plenty other countries to visit without any hazle.
