Your ticket doesn't mean much
We believe US Air canceled our evening flight out of LGA because it wasn't full, called it weather, and did not help us with a voucher for a hotel.
There doesn't seem to be a central agency that cares if airlines do not honor the tickets they sell, so the airlines can get away with not giving you a hotel voucher. They called it weather, but that works because they aren't obligated to pay - and the weather that day in New York City was balmy and 48 degrees, even though it was January 17th. What can we do about this problem?
Is this legal? It shouldn't be.
Watch out for the after 9 p.m flights - US Air doesn't seem to honor their pledge to follow their own scheduled flights at that time.
