My mother has been traveling to/from middle east in the past twenty years, using many different airlines (Lufthansa, Alitalia, Air France, KLM, etc.) without incident. For the sake of lay-over convenience her past two round trips has been with Emirates. Two incident in these small number of flights; once luggage was lost and delivered several days late (OK, it happens) and this time the same thing except a precious item was stolen from her checked and delayed luggage. Mind you she has had no such incident, nor has she had any claims with the other airlines, ever. When we complained to the Emirates, they took their good old time and after persisting to ask they refused the claim since it could not be verified. How do you prove someone stealing your item from the bag is beyond me. We kept asking and they referred us to their head office in NY! They simply refuse to even answer any phone or email and having been frustrated and certain they would do less than nothing, I am alerting you all that these guys are simply crocks, and can't be trusted. I note that my experience is not unique with this shady airline, as you can tell from the others posting stolen items from their luggage on this board.
