Spirit Air's NONACCESSIBLE $9 Fare Club is a FRAUD....
I too joined Spirit Air's $9 Fare Club. January 1, 2012 (it's on my calendar, NOT to renew, BTW, thanks to the posts here warning me about automatic "renewals" being charged to the abused. In January, I received the Fare Club price (a big-whoop ten bucks off their normal fare, each way). So far, so good. In July and August, I tried online and via phone to actually BOOK the Fare Club prices. It's impossible! I tried using different browsers, different computers (at work, home, on a laptop, at a public library) but every time I log in Spirit DOES NOT recognize that I am already a Fare Club Member ($59.95 was additionally charged to my card on 1-1-2012 over and above their posted Fare Club rate). Now it won't work, every time since that I have tried. I am only able to book the ten-dollar HIGHER, non-Fare Club rate. Each time I fired off an email to Spirit, I never received a response. I even tried calling their local corporate phone numbers but both I tried, the mailboxes were full. Customer no-service in Asia was absolutely no help, as expected....and online there is NO recourse.
Is this an isolated incident or are there other potential class-action participants who were defrauded by not even being able to USE their $9 Fare Club membership? $59.95 recurring fee, and not getting ANYTHING in return (other than my twenty dollar "discount" initially). False pretenses, with no recourse....among the countless other complaints of this horrendous disaster of a (mis)operation....
