Stolen Cameras
My husband and I went to Costa Rica in July for our honeymoon. We had a flight from Charlotte, NC to Liberia, Costa Rica with a layover in Atlanta. Our layover in Atlanta was 4 hours long. We arrived in Costa Rica when scheduled, but unfortunately our luggage did not. Our luggage was delivered 24 hours later to our resort, only for us to find that our movie camera and digital camera had been stolen.
We filed a complaint/claim within our 7 days only to receive a letter 8 weeks later with Delta “”respectfully declining our request for payment.” My husband and I are both teachers, we can’t afford to run out and purchase new equipment that was given to us as gifts.
Please explain to me how they get away with this? Are their employees not held to the same standard that most employees are? Do their employees know that the company is not held liable, therefore giving them the green light to steal?
