If they're on duty and their job is on the plane, then they should be able to stay... but a 65lb+ off duty police dog should have to be crated like everybody else's dog. Their policy is crap. The dog was under the owner's legs on an overbooked flight. It was too cramped in there and I think it just went crazy. It should have had to be crated and it would've saved $25,000+ in extra costs the airline is going to have to front (hotel costs for people missing connections, jet fuel, fees picked up by having to emergency land and retake off, etc.)
