American does not condone soliciting of tips by any of its agents or contractors, even those who, basically, work for tips.
I would suggest that you file a complaint directly with American. While it may not appear to have no effect, it will be noted in the employees work record (if American can determine who it was). I have been advised my American that if employees or contractors receive additional complaints of this nature, they will be terminated.
