Dear Etihad,
I purchased a ticket online for Air France airline but carrier operated by ETIHAD AIRWAYS - ticket number 057 233 4256087 AF3801 AUH to Paris.
My first complain was, I went to Etihad airways office in sheikh zayed and was told that I can't checked in there and I need to go to Abu Dhabi airport right away. however I traveled last year to US also with American Airlines and operated by Etihad and I was allowed to checked-in at your sheik zayed ofc. Anyway, I don't understand your regulation in this but your staff i think should be fully aware of your regulation because either of the 2 is correct and customers will waste time to drive to your office for nothing!
2nd, on my flight April 3 at 10pm I was in AUH airport, checked in and paid excess baggage. I was about to board but denied boarding. the staff said I need to have my return ticket then I said first, I didn't know about this regulation and when I purchased the ticket online it didn't ask for a 2 way ticket, 2nd my wife traveled in the same airline to US and was not asked for a return ticket. It was a big of exchange of words the whole time and the staff advised me to purchased a new ticket with return ticket as I will not be able to make it to the flight?!?!?! I was so angry, disappointed and frustrated! I was roaming around the airport as I don't know the ticketing office, I was asking people as I was not given a proper service. Nobody explained to me my right for denied boarding.
Until I finally found the Etihad ticketing office, I was forced to purchased a new ticket for $1500 and non refundable as the staff told me that I can refund my previous ticket from Air France and refund the money I paid for excess baggage from Etihad as i have to pay a new one for a new check in! then it's becoming the worst day of my life as I am stuck for 4 hours and I have paid a lot of money already and as there was no proper service from Etihad!
The etihad told me that I can refund the excess baggage payment I did right away, I just have to send email to
feedback@etihad.ae. I have sent 7 emails already and I have the REF 139819 until now there is no refund!
And my ticket is until now not refunded and its already more than 1 month!@@@
I have been looking for ways for etihad to hear me as I was not getting proper answer from their staff neither through email or calls! I hope that in this way, the right person from etihad can read my complaint!
