This is not an official line to Etihad. I would remove your personal details and phone number if I were you.

On the substance, it sounds as if you had two seperate bookings. if so, you will not get compensation from Etihad. All airlines exclude "consequential damages" caused by delays unless the ticket is booked as a single journey. Had this been the case, AA would have accommodated you, but I am afraid if you booked these as two separate bookings you will not be compensated.
