Angry BA lack of attemp to rectify their problem

My wife and I were scheduled to fly on BA162 on the morning of
Dec. 17,2014 and connect to BA flight 49 on the same date.
For reasons which remain unexplained, the BA162 flight was delayed for 4 hours making the connection with BA49 impossible.
We were told that the flight could be cancelled, or that we could make the flight 24 hours later.

BA did not attempt to try arrange a flight with Iberia or American Airlines which would have allowed us to arrive in Seattle on Dec. 17, which was of some importance to us. During more than two hours on the morning of the
17th the Tel Aviv BA office did not answer their phones.

In addition, we must wait another 24 hours in order to order our boarding passes, our seats and our meal preferences which are already available to BA if they wished to offer decent customer service.

Since we paid $2,000 more for our tickets which are available on the 18th for $2,000 less, one might expect that BA would refund the difference since the change in flights is entirely their responsibility; In regard to that, we have heard nothing from BA.
