Suitcase damaged
I should avoid Frankfurt Main airport like the plague. My girlfriend, a 50 year old Filipino teacher en route from Costa Rica via Bogota and Frankfurt to Thailand - in transit - was stripped searched and made to pee in front of security staff. It was a thoroughly unpleasant and traumatising experience and there was no apology, assistance or offer of help when it was discovered that she was totally innocent of carrying drugs. The manner of the security was reminiscent of the nazis! Furthermore when she arrived in Bangkok she discovered that her hold baggage had been tampered with and her suitcase damaged. No compensation was offered. The carrier was Lufthansa.
