Delayed in Madrid - BA fobbing me off still!
I recently travelled to Costa Rica from Heathrow via Madrid with my family.
The departing BA flight from Heathrow was delayed, which meant we missed our connecting IBERIA flight to San Jose from Madrid. We ended up staying two days of our once-in-a-lifetime holiday in Madrid due to this delay.
After 5 months of chasing BA, they have come back to advise it is not their fault, as the minimum transit time between the flights was not within their guidelines. They told me to take this up with my tour operator...Intrepid Adventures.
Intrepid have been brilliant. They have confirmed that they booked the connecting flights on Amadeus, which has the airline policies built in. Indeed, BA is STILL SELLING THESE FLIGHTS with the same connecting time via MADRId, despite saying that the minimum transit time is inappropriate. WHY ARE THEY STILL SELLING THIS FLIGHT IF IT DOES NOT COMPLY ???
Intrepid have advised that BA are liable and simply trying to fob me off. BA are obliged to pay compensation for myself and my four other family members whose holiday was disrupted.
BA you are liable for this. You are not paying the compensation due to me AND you are still selling the flights you claim are outside of the guidelines. You cannot have it both ways!
Please can you be honest. Do the decent thing. Pay me the compensation that is due. Why does an innocent customer have to take to shaming you on web forums?
