Default Credit card fraud

I booked travel through American Airlines, who then cancelled my flight, they sent to aa.com/refunds to claim a refund. They however failed to refund all the money they charged me, and cleverly claim I do not have a valid claim because I do not have a ticket number for the false charges. Short of filing a fraud claim with my credit card company I am loss as to how to get this company to behave in a responsible and professional manner.
