Default The poster, not this board, is liable??

Just a guess, but I would think case law on this subject would hold the poster of the alleged slander/liable responsible, rather than those who facilitate this board. One could argue that to hold the board facilitator responsible would, as a practical matter, inhibit free speech since every single posting would need to be reviewed for possible slander/liable.

As a moral issue, I think it's safe to say that better than half of the alleged slander/liable "victims" on this board are as guilty as sin. They behave the way they do because they know there are no consequences for their actions. Indeed their superiors may, even, support such behavior. Accordingly, even if some statements meet the technical definition of slander/liable, they may, in many cases, not be actionable since the "victim" would not be able to prove any kind of loss.
