Default yes, but the point is...

I didn't mind paying for the hotel as much as forking out $3K for first class and having my seat given away to someone else then not getting some type of reimbursement for that.

The Customer Service agent does however have access to the info as to when the the flight left the gate which in turn would have indicated the late arrival in Denver.
