Canceled Flight and Rebooking Assistance
On my return to the U.S., United canceled my connecting flight home. I was assured by customer service that there would be staff at the counter to assist with rebooking and to provide transportation, hotel, and meal vouchers for an overnight stay. However, upon arrival, there was no staff available, leaving me to cover all expenses out of pocket.
As a solo female traveler, I had no choice but to stay at a motel that only accepted cash and had limited visibility of staff, which felt unsafe. Following my return home, the reimbursement process took over a month and a half and involved considerable, unnecessary back and forth.
This experience was beyond frustrating and disappointing, and I will not consider using this airline again.
