A little correction is in order here. Slander is verbal, libel is written. Minor detail, but libel is what we would be dealing with here.
There is nothing in the law that says the agent would have to prove damages, only that the statement was made. (Actually there are a couple other requirements, but once the person posts the statement, those are met.)
