Regulation Z [12 CFR 226.12(3)(1)] states that a carrier (or any merchant) must forward a credit to the credit card company within 7 business days after receiving a complete refund application.
However, it might take 2 billing cycles before the credit appears on your statement. The 2 billing cycles is the credit card, not the carrier.
Check with your credit card company to see if they recieved a credit or charge back from United/Cheaptickets.
