Yea Delta does make you jump through some hurdles before they give you that "Best Fare Guarantee. I mean you have to be exact right down to the letter. Taken from the Delta site:
"The lower total fare found must be for exact same Delta flight, date, cabin, booking class (which begins with a letter such as L, U, T, B etc.) and flight time as the original itinerary purchased on the same day at delta.com, and the difference in total fare (including third party booking fees) must be equal to or greater than $10."
If you're good at hunting for these lower than booked fares then this is easy to do. However, for those uninitiated, after you find the lower fare you have to call the travel service to get the lettering code and such, plus their prices fluctuate so one minute its the lower fare and the next its equal to the fare you bought. To me its really too much work, complete waste of time. however there are those who are quite good at taking advantage of that best fare guarantee. You can try to see, butthe details are right there on the website. good luck.
