Connecting time in "TO"
When you originally booked your trip it looks like you knew you would only have 2 hours, 20 min. to make your connection at Toronto (Ottawa flight to Sydney flight.) For a connection to a trans-Pacific flight I would have held-out for a lay-over of, at least, 4 hours. This is particularly true if I had pre-paid accomodations at my destination. Indeed, as you now realize, it would have been worth the money to book an overnight stay at Toronto Airport, or Vancouver Airport, to ensure there would be no problem making the trans-Pacific flight. Inexpensive travel is often NOT inexpensive if one trys to "economize" on the length of a lay-over at a connecting airport. As to your next trans-Pacific trip: I think you ALSO realize that Cathay Pacific is worth the extra dollars.
