What did you expect by calling an agent who deals with reservations? As Leatherboy pointed out the final report is not out on the incident you cite and probably won't be until next year.
On second thought, why didn't you contact Colgan directly? It was their aircraft and their pilots. Here's the contact info:

If you have a problem with Colgan Air then I have a simple solution for you...don't fly them! But you had better choose wisely as there are no US domestic carriers that have had neither a loss of life and/or hull in an accident. Sure you could fly Qantas from New York to Los Angeles...via Sydney!
