ATA Airlines
I bought 2 tickets from Houston to New York through Best Flights Australia in April 2007. These tickets cost me A$340.
Best Flights Australia issued paper tickets for the flight on August 29 2007.
In Houston a day before the flight I checked on the internet to see if the flight time had been changed.
To my dismay I couldn't find the flight number so I rang ATA.
I was told rather impolitely that my tickets had been cancelled and that the flight had been discontinued. She didn't even sorry sir.
I contacted Best Flights in Australia, they hadn't been informed about this flight being discontinued.
I had buy 2 new tickets (Continental but flown by Delta) on the internet. These cost me A$1350.
On returning to Australia I contacted Best Flights regarding a refund. I've been waiting 4 months for an answer.
Today I was informed by Best Flights that the tickets issued by ATA are unrefundable.
Is this typical of US airlines?
Has anyone else had this experience with ATA?
