ok Air Transat we just flew back from paris, and our bagage allowance was 23kg my bag was 22.7 my wifes case was 26.2 so yes we was over i had no problem paying as i am Disabled and really cant do much about things like this,
so the lady had problems with her convayor all of a sudden she was telling me we was both over and we had to pay 84 Euro i was not happy and tried to explain i was not over she just put them through and would not give me my boarding pass until i paid she was french speaking and her english was poor until we left then she seemed to get better at english i stood there whilst she was chatting to other people this is so wrong, so when we got home i arranged for our Baggage to be weighed my Baggage was 21.3 and my wifes Baggage was 22.1 so why did i have to pay 84Euro this is theft, i really dont no where to go from here. i have made an appointment with a Lawyer as i feel so strongly about this and me and my wife have decided we will spend whatever it takes to get justice |

I think hiring a lawyer over 84 Euros is a bit excessive but it's your money. I'd say, write your complaint letter, tell everyone you know not to use AirTransat and never use them again yourself. That would be my advice.

I agree with you. The airline industry is getting WAY too much of our money. Like, why the hell does it cost that much just to check in a couple of bags?

Iam in the process of sueing Air Transat right now. I am taking them to small claims court. I cant say much about my claim since our actual court day isnt until Sept.
Try contacting TICO (Travel Industry council ?) - they regulate things with airlines. When they couldnt help me....and belive me they tried! I proceeded to small claims court. Air T was not willign to settle with me until I took them to court. My issue with them was due to a ticket change with my flight. Orginally scheduled to fly with Skyservice and then when they chagned us to canjet they changed the date and didnt tell us. (they argue saying they did tell us of the chagne - thats were the dispute is). When we showed up to the airport on the wrong day, the only way for us to get out of the airport was to purchase tickets with Westjet (we did so on the suggestion of an AirT rep) and now they will not reimburse us the whole amout of that extra ticket. (there's a lot more little details to it) My point is....DON'T BE AFRAID to stand up to these little companies. They should not be allow to treat "little" people this way. Do what you feel is right, but dont be afraid to take them on. |
