Hi everyone,
I don´t even know where put my issue because it´s custumer service, overbooked flight, check in. But this is my issue: I had a reservation to flight with delta on July 8th from NYC (JFK) to Mexico City at 4:25 PM, We arrive at the terminal 3 east side at 3:05(1 hr 20 mins before the departure). The girl who attended us print the 2 stickers of the luggage put one and dispatched the baggage to the plane the second sticker didn´t put on the baggage because she was talking with his coworker (for at least 10 minutes), after that she called to the supervisor because the system don´t let her print the boarding pass. The supervisor told us that we had lost the flight because the tickets was sold, minutes later told us that we don´t have enough time to get to the gate, and because of that she cannot print the boarding pass (Even when outside of the airport there is a sign that says "You can register for a international flight 60 minutes before). She told us that if we want to go, she can sold to us two tickets per 350 dlls. each and that we have to create an issue because my wife luggage was lost.I bought the 2 tickets. When I arrive to the terminal 1 to take the flight the attendant told us that there was no seats available. That she don´t know why anyone sold us those tickets. I spoke with some persons on terminal 1 and finally leave the airport at 1 AM of the next day. I am asking for the refund in Delta for the second flight. In wich there was no seats available. But they say NO. Some one can help me telling me where can I complain about this, or what can I do ? I am not from US and i need to know where can i make something for the refund. Thanks in advance. |

go to delta.com and at the top of the page it says comments/complaints, click on that. Deltas site says minimum required check in time for JFK is 60 minutes, you were there. I personally think 80 minutes on an international flight especially in JFK is cutting it close, but thats my opinion. bottom line, you were there within the required time.

That´s right about the 80 minutes, I arrived with a short time because the traffic of NYC, it took me 90 minutes from the city to the airport. I already made a complain in the webpage but they say NO, we do not going to refund you, so, what other thing can i do.
Thanks for the answer, and the the info. |

Try complaining to the DOT. There is a link to the complaints department of the DOT on the Quick Links at the top of this page. Even if they don't agree to take up your complaint, it does at least have the virtue of escalating it up the chain in Delta to have your complaint reconsidered. I would also ask Delta to escalate the complaint. Write also to the Chief Executive.
