Default 100 extra bucks for no bags

I have never create a post/thread in my life but United just ****** me off so much that I had to vent. After sending an extra 100 bucks on baggage fees, you would expect to at the very least get the bags. Not the case with United. So when on of the bags didn't show up (for the 2nd time on the same vacation) they explained that they loaded the bag onto a different flight because there was not enough room on our flight. WTF?! The weird thing was, we checked in like 3 hours before the flight and our other bags were there just fine.

So when we realized the missing bag wasn't coming down the carousel, the United customer rep said they would deliver it the next day...ok fine... When the next day came, the delivery guy calls at 3 and says he can make the delivery in 1 hour. Of course he picks the only time in the day I can't be at home b/c of a doctors appointment. I tell him, if he can make it before 4 or after 5, then ok. When he realized the delivery time did not work for him, he asks literally 5 times during the call if he could just leave the bag on my front door after I said I needed someone to sign for it. It's 7pm and still no word.

United Sucks! I don't care how much more expensive United's competitors are, I'm going with them next time.

Default get your $100 back

What a horror story! You have every right to complain.

Do you know that you may be entitled to a refund for the baggage fees? The DOT has released new regulations which, under certain conditions, the airline must refund your baggage fees when your bags are lost. Here is the press release from DOT: http://www.dot.gov/affairs/2011/dot11111.html

I think you deserve more than just the $100 refund. Have you had a chance to contact Customer Relations at United? They may reply and offer you additional compensation, such as a voucher. Good luck and keep us posted on the outcome.

Default United Rip Off

at $25.00 per bag you would think that United would at least make sure that their customers are INFORMED about whre and what happened to their bags. After waiting 40 minutes at the carosuel ..I had to go find a United rep who could have cared less about my having to wait and wait...after awhile I finally found my bags - I found them in their wayward bags room...the United people act like entitled thin skinned government workers...when I complained to one of them she stared at me and said she had to go to the bathroom...
