American Airlines FF Miles
We have just learned that AA Advantage wiped all of my wife's 133,840 miles from our account. We were told that her account was inactive just over 18 months. We further learned that AA had an old address for her (6 years old) and never updated the account. Which they were advised of. We were also told that the new policy was to wipe out the entire miles unlike the old policy of taking away the earliest. We protesed with AA Advantage ann got nowhere. We were told that we had to pay $600.00 to have the miles re-activated. This is highway robbery. We have spent many years and a lot of purchases to accumulate these miles. To have them all wiped out for a month overdue, which was partly their fault is absurd. We also sent an e-mail to the CEO Thomas Horton and were egnored. We finally sent a letter of complaint to the Virginia Consumer Affairs as well as the Dept. of Transportation regarding our complaint. We have decided to fight this all the way. American Airlines is definately not a customer friendly airline.
