I was very frustrated with AA yesterday and when I talked to the phone operator at AA she didn't really seem to care. I've been a Frequent Flyer with AA for almost 20 years and when possible I always fly AA and I tell my friends and family that AA is one of the better airlines to fly on. Well, I definitely wasn't satisfied yesterday and I have already talked to some of my friends and family members about my disappoint with AA.
What happened was that I had tried to book an airline ticket with AA online and kept getting booted off and after an hour and a half of getting booted off the AA website and trying to get back on I finally got frustrated and called the 800 number for AA to book my ticket over the phone. The problem with this is that I had to pay the extra $25.00 to book my ticket over the phone. I explained to the AA operator that it wasn’t possible for me to book it online and she basically said she couldn’t do anything about. I booked my ticket and then called up my sister to ask her if she had any problems and she said she had the same problem trying to book her AA ticket the day before. Furthermore, the operator had said that she had talked to another customer earlier that day that had the same problem. I don’t think I should be charged the $25.00 if I’m not able to book the ticket online. |

I sent an email to AA explaining my frustration with their website and the fact that I had to pay $25.00 just to book a ticket over the phone. They responded back to me within 3 hours and refunded my $25.00. I know $25.00 isn't that big of a deal but it's the principal and I'm very satisfied with their response, Way to go AA. Another Happy Customer.

I'm leading a travel group - 16 of us. We all booked out of Houston to Italy a couple of days ago on a flight in May. AA came back a day later and said that HOU-JFK / JFK-HOU flight was going to be canceled and re-routed us through Chicago to JFK and then returning JFK to Miami to Houston. Not what we wanted. So we call them back and are re-booking through Dallas to JFK. It's all OK, except the JFK - DFW leg that we want - we can book seats but we can't get seat assignments. We have to take whatever they decide to give us at the airport! I don't see us finding a computer in Rome to book 24 hours in advance - so we get whatever is left over an hour before the flight. Really? An international ticket usually gets at least enough respect to choose a seat.
