Reneging on incentives
Now I've seen it all. I've had plenty if reason to stop flying United - now I'm really done. Flight 624 from DC to ORD was overbooked. They asked for two volunteers to delay to next flight, for a $400 voucher. I hit the bid. Great they say, go stand over there and we'll ticket you on the next flight.
Everyone boards, then the Stephen Hawking of customer service informs me the deal is off, they still want me on this flight. OK - he proceeds to hand me a crap middle seat in the dead back of the plane, rather than my original aisle up front, chosen weeks before. I complain, he tells me to pound sand, and threatens to leave without me, and leave me off both.
Insult to injury, he gets on the plane, and announces to the entire manifest that someone has to move or the flight can't leave because of some ass hole, leaving me to walk the angry gauntlet just to get back to a proxy for where I'd started to begin with. No good dead goes unpunished, but at United your slaughtered for it.
Garbage attitude, garbage product, hence garbage brand. Bye bye United. Hello American.
