Default Air China

I had the worst experience with Air China this past December. Our flight from Bangkok to Beijing was almost two hours delayed due to mechanical issues. This caused us (along with 15+ passengers) to miss our connecting flight from Beijing to Los Angeles. Air China did not do anything to help us make our connecting flight considering the plane was still there and gates were still open when we arrived at the Beijing airport. The Air China representatives at the Beijing airport informed us that we were too late, and automatically bumped us to the next flight which meant an 8 hour delay. To make matters worse, Air China did not do anything to accommodate us during the 8 hour delay, not to mention the horrible customer service we all experienced.

I wrote a detailed letter that I sent via email to Air China, dates/times, flight numbers, cited their General Conditions of Carriage, etc. I received a response asking for my ticket numbers, which I had provided and even sent pictures of my actual boarding passes via email. I haven't heard since. I've called several times, and every time I was told that they can't help me and that I just have to wait for the customer complaint department's reply. I even posted on twitter and tagged Air China but nothing.

One of the mail reasons I flew with Air China and paid the price is because they are a Star Alliance member and I wanted to get the mileage credit. It's a shame and I would never recommend anyone flying Air China ever, unless you want to be treated so poorly.

Sorry to hear that.

Avoid them like plague. I had luggage mistreated experience with Air China as well as no customer service and rude airport staff at PEK.
