I guess that epidemics don't rate a refund for cancellation
So I had booked a pretty expensive flight ($2100) to Seoul Korea for a meeting in July. The meeting was being hosted by the Korean Government International Standards Organization (known as KATS). The other day the host was forced to cancel the meeting due to the MERS outbreak in Korea. This was at the order of the Korean government.
MERS is a pretty serious disease with a number dead and hundreds hospitalized.
Would DELTA accept that as a valid reason for a refund? Nope. Interestingly, the flight is operated by Korean Air which will offer refunds.
I guess that Delta could care less about customer health or world health.
