Thumbs down American Airlines Preys on Autistic Person

Is American Airlines hard up for money?A 24 year old autistic young man books a flight online. He is unaware of the fact that he is actually purchasing a ticket with an apparently newly issued credit card in his name.He had no credit cards in his possession before his interaction with the American airlines website. When mother reviews his e-mail she sees American Airlines has sent him a confirmation for a purchased ticket for $453.20 with a UATP credit card. The mother immediately calls American Airlines to cancel the transaction and figure out how American Airlines website would have issued him a UTAP credit card. After explaining the situation to two different people and 30 minutes of hold time, the mother is informed that the ticket is non-refundable because it is for the next day. It can be cancelled; but, not refunded. They offered to transfer the call to security to report the fraud. What fraud? The mother was calling to inform AA that a ticket was issued that should not have been issued and to figure out how her son would have been issued an unknown credit card. The mother could not stay on hold any longer waiting for security so called back later in the evening and started the whole discovery process over again. At the end of the second phone call, no refund was given, the ticket was not cancelled, and the young man still had as a credit card in his name issued from a link on theAA website with an amount due to American Airlines that he had no way of paying.Mother tries a different avenue....search the web for UTAP credit cards. It was discovered that the UATP credit card, Universal Air Travel Plan Credit Card, was an airline owned payment network (From Wikipedia)related to some sort of Paypal virtual credit card that he qualified for.The mother contacts Paypal to explain the situation.Paypal agrees to dispute the charges with American Airlines and figure out how the random steps the young man must have taken could have resulted in a virtual credit card and a purchased airline ticket. The amazing part.....American Airlines was more concerned about keeping their non-refundable airfare than figuring out what happened to create this unusual situation.Kudos to Paypal for listening to the situation and making it right!
