Default NO TSA Security at NY LaGuardia

American Airline Flight 785 from LaGuardia to DFW on 11/28/08. Your Security Breach. Gate D-6, TSA to plane, my luggage was compromised. My property was stolen.
TSA Event ID 300195027781128
Police Report Number 0803662

My luggage was in my possession at all times until handing it over to LGA Luggage check. My luggage was violated, goods were STOLEN in your SECURITY SYSTEM! You have NO SECURITY! If the few bucks your people made off my laptop is worth the breach of TSA integrity, a terrorist wouldn't have to pay much more to substitute articles into someones luggage!!! It is in the news, it happenned to me, which means you aren't fixing it! You have a breach. I want a response to resolve this!

Was your item stolen during TSA search or while handled by American?

Are you blaming TSA or AA for a computer that was stolen? AA is not responsible for such an item.

http://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do?...imitations.jsp

I am not calling you a liar but you need to know that so many people try to claim missing valuables out of their luggage that goes beyond clothing and toiletries. I am sorry that your computer came up missing. You should have known better. I agree that the thieving bastards need to be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law (and other things I have ideas for.)

I don't appreciate how you loosely use the term "terrorist" as though it is an excuse to go through passenger's personal belongings and person. I understand your frustration, really I do, but you need to understand why U.S. airports are under a code orange.

Friends told me upon my return that this has been in the News recently.
They said that TSA Inspectors are announcing on their radios what
is IN the Luggage. Either intentially or without a clue that baggage handlers are using this to identifying bags with valuables, then taking the valuables.

Also, to the AA Employee...
I had my family with me witnessing the Laptop, wife & kids.
I did office work in NY on that Laptop and email my work in.
I filed a TSA Event ID & Police Report, no shortage of evidence.
That comment about I should have known better...
My daughter was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, organized by the
Mike Miller Group. They layed down the rules IN PRINT how to pack,
and what not to carry on! I followed the instructions to the letter.
Your other comment about the T word I used...
You sound like a PR person. Even if you are, realize:
The Airline Terminals have Security Control over people from the
moment they show Boarding Pass, ID, and get Scanned in, ALL THE WAY to the plane. Not so with the luggage. This is my point.
I looked these incidents up on the web, and yes, they are in the news,
still going on in NY at various airlines.
I should realize, the thieves are not the ones watching and responding here on this website. My responses are in anger, but not directed to you. I hate being victomized. I contribute to charity alot. I tip well. I support the economy. May we all have better days.

Bill, it has been in the news that a TSA agent was caught with 200,000 bucks worth of stuff stolen from passengers. You did the right thing, you filed a report with TSA and the ploice. HOWEVER TSA is NOT AA. So your complaint lies with them. AA has nothing at all to do with what TSA does. No airline does. Plus the airlines don't accept responsibility for you putting your laptop in your checked luggage.

Bob, I am sorry you had to go through that. I looked at the above links and I am shocked. I usually read the newspapers and check the news online to stay on top with what is going on in the industry. I am surprised I have not come across the above stories. The TSA agents I work with have told me about the thorough background checks they have to go through as well as the psychological evaluations. It seems to contradict what one the reports that claims that no background checks were conducted.

You did the right thing by filing incident reports. I hope your stuff surfaces and the thief is caught.

No offense taken. That is the other name I'm usually called.
News:
The Police Detective and I have been discussing what thieves typically do.
Old school thieves take goods to Pawn Shops.
New school thieves sell goods thru Craigs List.
So I went out to Craigs List. I selected New York, Mysteriously...
a Laptop appears, exact same make, model (rare), mint condition (like mine), just hours after mine is stolen, it is posted! So I looked up his location in New York, 17 miles from the Airport! How coincidental!!!
In all of New York. The software load is the same as mine! No power pack,
or mouse, as I still have these.
I sent an email, and the bozo doesn't respond! 2 reasons why, he knows
my email as the original owner, or he already sold it. Not even a 'hi, I sold it'. I have to have evidence showing probably cause, I'm told.
I'll keep everyone posted as things develop.
