I have had it with Delta and their TSA. I just spent 24 hours in Savannah. While I was there I purchased a signed piece of art. I took special care to put this art in the suitcase encased in cardboard to fit my suitcase and protect the art. I arrived home this evening and opened my suitcase to find the dreaded white ticket indicated my suitcase had been ransacked. The art work is ruined. They took everything out and then crammed the cardboard into the suitcase causing a huge crease in the middle of the art work.
I also purchased a special bottle of Georgia Syrup. Knowing that the bottle could break, I wrapped it inside two plastic bags from the Marriott and tied the end of the bags so if it broke, it would not ruin anything inside my suitcase. They opened the bags- one completely disappeared and they just set the bottle inside the one bag and didn't tie the end shut. The bottle didn't break; however, the seal on the bottle was broken and there is no way on God's green earth I'm going to use the syrup now because for all I know they spit in the bottle. Why would they open a sealed bottle of Georgia Syrup????????????? For crying out loud. That's just the issue I had with luggage. I'll have to go to another forum to talk about the one hour on the tarmac in Atlanta. I fly 220 times a year for business. You can bet your sweet bippie that it will be a cold, cold day before I EVER choose Delta again. The only way I'd ever fly them again is if they were the only airline going where I had to go. It's bad enough that we have to be stripped, take everything out of the bag and be treated like cows getting on the plane. There is not a shred of decency left in flying. Here's the real sad news- they charged me 50 bucks for the bag they desecrated- and the art cost more than that...think they'll give me any kind of compensation????? I'm sure they'd laugh all the way to the bank with my money. ![]() ![]()

Delta is not nor has ever been in charge of TSA. Sad to hear about your artwork, but you have to file a complaint with TSA direct (www.tsa.gov).

Thanks- I thought each airline hired their own TSA- I'll take the art work up with them.
I still have issues with Delta- but then the only airline I get excited about is Midwest Express and their comfy seats and free cookies. |

bob is right TSA is a branch of the USA government and not part of the airlines.
Does Midwest still do cookies? I haven't been on them in a long time |

Hi,
Thanks for the info on TSA. Not complaining to TSA. I fly 200 times a year and I don't want to end up on some watch list....but someone needs to police the TSA. I'm so bummed about the art work because it was for my mother of the last place we went with my father before he passed away. By the way- Midwest still has cookies and you usually get 2 of them and sometimes 4. They are so good and it's always 2 seats on each side- so no middle seats....and Southwest Airlines still lets you take 2 suitcases for FREEEEEEEEE So tired of getting charged for everything. Delta even charges for window seats and aisle seats. Thanks again. |

telling the TSA about your artwork wont put you on the list. just email them and dont sound like a "you know what". i would complain to them. you were going to complain to delta until you found out that they dont control the TSA. but i agree with you on midwest..love that airline
