I was on a flight from Buffalo to Honolulu yesterday morning leaving at 6.21 am.
Got to the airport at 5.30 and was told that my flight was delayed until 9.21 but I would make my connection. I bought 3 first class seats worth $7,500. The pilots who were in Buffalo arrived to the plane at 9.15 for a 9.21 take off. Mind you all of the passengers and the flight attendants had been on the plane for at least ten minutes before the pilots arrived joking about their hotel stay. Needless to say we didn't take off until 9.50 am and I missed my connection in Chicago. The plane was at the gate but they refused to wait for me. I ended up cancelling the trip since they could not get me out for at least two days. I was refunded the remainder of my ticket however my wife and son missed a planned vacation because two pilots were too lazy to get out of bed and arrive on time for their flights. I think we should file a class action suit against the airlines especially United for their callous treatment of fliers. |

maybe the reason they were late was due to crew rest

I checked and they arrived 10pm the night before. As an air force flight surgeon I would say they had more than enough. If they had arrived 15 minutes earlier they would have been able to get their preflight review done on time and be ready for a wheels up at 9.21am and arrived in chicago on time. Obviously you scheduled a flight time at 9.21 knowing that they would have achieved the necessary crew rest. When will the airlines wake and realize the public aren't fools.
