Sorry, just need to vent.
I've been a Continental flyer since 1996, when I swore off using United because they really are the most horrible US airline. I fly approximately 100K/year. Prior to joining the Star Alliance, I was upgraded on nearly every Continental and Northworst flight withing the continental U.S.
Now, I find myself as number 12 on the United upgrade list everywhere I go, I'm only upgraded on about half of the continental flights.
Back to the United thing. I'm supposed to like the "Changes", however when I'm forced to travel on a united flight,
A: I can't get upgraded because on the united tier system, Continental platnum is number 3 or 4 on their list
B: When boarding, Continental elite must board after 1K

Then you have to deal with the crappy staff at United who really have a distaste for the Contintal flyers.
Example: I was in Chicago last night asking a united rep how the upgrades work. The answer:
Well sir, you can't expect us to give you the same benefits as our loyal United flyers.

I could also tell that they were using United staff on Continental flights, While boarding, they were making fun of the first class passengers and their ability to pee in the terminal vs. the plane when they just get on. I would never ever expect this from Continental staff.
