Lufthansa Codesharing Flight Canceled
Hello all. I have a question about rebooking a canceled codesharing flight.
My girlfriend and I are leaving to study abroad in Europe at the beginning of March. Our flights were scheduled as: Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, Philadelphia to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Vienna. Our return flight schedules were different because we are from different states but this is not important. I purchased my tickets from Orbitz but my girlfriend purchased hers through a travel agent.
My ticket for the Pittsburgh to Philadelphia flight is on a U.S. Airways flight. My girlfriend's ticket, however, was on the same flight but purchased as a Lufthansa codesharing ticket, so basically Lufthansa would pay U.S. Airways for that seat. We found out yesterday that the Lufthansa codesharing part of that flight was canceled, even though the flight is still happening. So, my girlfriend's travel agent changed her flight so that she is flying Air Canada from Pittsburgh to Toronto to London. The travel agent says she can't book a different flight from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia because it would have to be another Lufthansa codesharing flight and there aren't any others that day. Is there any way around this?
I already paid about $200 extra dollars so that we could fly together. It's frustrating that I just wasted that money because Lufthansa decided not to codeshare on that particular flight. I would really appreciate any suggestions.
