Default DELTA lost my child!!!

My 10 yr old son was traveling on Delta from LAS to JFK - Delta 1. Originally, he had a direct flight but due to Delta's ridiculous problems, he was not able to be put on his original flight and he had to be put on another flight 1740 going through SLC to JFK, where he arrived at midnight instead of 7 p.m. Due to lack of communication, they couldn't find him in Salt Lake. His cell phone wasn't working so we couldn't get through to him. When we called Customer Support, they told us 3 different stories 1) he was on the plane, 2) they didn't know if he were on, 3) we could 'page' him.

This is just crazy. We paid $100 to have a minor escort but yet they can't even tell you where your kid is, or if he's at the gate. They can't even call the gate agent? What kind of BS outfit are they running?

I travel on business 2 times a week, but I'm never traveling with Delta again.

Good for you. hit them by not flying - the only thing that works.

anyone that puts a 10 tr old on a cross country flight alone (regardless of airline problems) should be cited for child neglect!!

If the airline is going to offer UM service, and take the money for it, then they'd better take care of that kid no matter what.
