Recently, my wife, daughter and I went to Las Vegas for a wedding. On our way there, we rode with AA. The flight from Dallas to Las Vegas, the flight crew were the rudest I have ever seen.
The head stewardess (Keri) stood beside our chair talking to another employee (male) about (3) people that needed belt extenders, making comments such as "you'll know them when you see them" and laughing. The hurtful thing was that they had a nickname for bigger people. "BUFFETS". I heard her refer to these people as buffets and laughing. My wife and I are large people, but thanks to God, we were able to force ourselves into the belts in the seat. This caused the most uncomfortable flight i hvae ever had, but would rather deal with that than the humiliation that we witnessed. I did send in a complaint into the airline and received a "form" email that apologized for the "less the courteous" treatment. Less than courteous? That is discrimination! I sent another reply and did not get a response. Moral of the story for American Airlines is that it if you are a larger person, American Airlines does not respect or want you to fly with them. |

Being rude is not acceptable, but I have also been smashed up against the window because a very large person could not fit in their own seat, and spread into mine. I can tell you it isn't an enjoyable flight. I'm not small, 6ft, 225lbs..but I still fit and I'm aware of others. So don't complain, loose weight.

Obviously you didn't understand. I did fit, I felt sorry not only for the people that the stewardess was referring. As for your reply, this also was unacceptable.is Christ not in anyones hearts any longer?

I happen to be a Christan, but I do not see the connection between my reply and not being a Christan..I support many charities, and do volunteer work..Do You?...any way, Good luck to you...

Well...not to keep this going, but I do my fair share of charity and working, if that is Christianity then we have a major issue within the ranks. I actually work within the Church.
As for what your postin had to do with my reply. "So don't complain, loose weight" isnt a very Christian reply. Take Care... |

Quote:
It's not discrimination unless they refused to give you a belt extender or don't have enough on board to provide for all of the 'portley' passengers. You chose not to ask for one because you didn't want to be made fun of in a sense by the flight attendants due to insecurities. Be an adult and ask for the larger seat belt other wise live with your choice. |
