Shame on you American Airlines. I thought I could expect more from a major carrier. My return flight AA#307 from DCA to DFW on May 3, 2008 at 9:05 AM was cancelled without my knowledge. Had I not called to re-confirm my reservation as I headed out to the airport via Super Shuttle, I would have been stranded in DCA.

Ironically, two women who had just boarded the shuttle overheard me arguing with the AA reservationist and realized they too were also booked on the same flight. So as we barreled down the freeway, all three of us frantically made calls to get re-booked.

Your policy of not attempting to contact a customer during non-business hours is inexcusable. Cancelling this flight at 1:30 AM, the morning of a scheduled departure, does not leave a customer much time to figure out alternative plans. AA reservationists’ cavalier attitude towards this situation only added fuel to the fire. Shame on you AA. I am deeply disappointed in you.
