On a cruise with no luggage
My family recently went from Columbus, OH to Miami,FL for a cruise. Our plane boarded an hour later and then we were told it was overbooked and needed 5 people pulled off. After we shoved off the gate we learned a monitor wasn't working, and we would be delayed while the fixed the monitor. The flight crew was great keeping us updated. After the monitor was fixed the plane had to be refueled, so back to the gate we went. As we were sitting at the gate ALL of the luggage was unloaded. We finally made it to Miami, but no ones luggage did. There were about 50 people on the plane and only 3 pieces of luggage. When we went to the counter to inquire they could have cared less. The agent next to the lady that was taking care of me explained to the other couple all about being compensated for items that they had to buy, gave them small toiletry kits and let them know they could get back their baggage fee. Our agent told us nothing and we had to beg for the little kits. Now we are on a cruise, in the middle of the ocean, with no luggage. Thankfully I had packed a few tops and all of our bathing suits in the carry on. When I called they were like just go out and buy what you need. I repeated very slowly...I am on a cruise without access to any types of stores. The luggage met up with us at our first port. When I got home and called about reimbursement they told me baggage fees were non-refundable. It's been almost a month and I still haven't heard a word from them and have not been refunded for the few things I had to buy to hold us over.
