Delta bumped me off a flight then cancelled my bumped flight. Booked me the next day. Missed a day of work. So far, no compensation. Charged me $90 for a piece of overweight luggage after I already paid $25 for it on the bumped flight. I had the online receipt but no one would listen. Had to pay or miss the flight. Delta should stop worrying about fuel prices and start worrying about empty planes. I will never fly Delta again. It is the worst customer service I have ever received. I've been pushed from one cubical to another.

Delta is awful. a year or 2 ago I was flying home from work (norfolk-atlanta-chicago) with 4 others. our company paid for our tickets home, we had no choice but to fly delta and therefore...full fare tickets. we checked in at orf and recieved boarding passes. got to atlanta went to the gate and waited for our names to be called for seats (we did have confirmed seats, not stand by) we heard them start boarding. so myself and 2 others (the other 3 had seat assignments) went to the desk and asked about the seats. they said they had overbooked the flight and we were now on stand by...WHAT?!?! we told the other girls to get on the plane we will be fine. i called my company, they had a fit with delta. we asked delta when the next flight is, they told us tomorrow around 1030am. we asked what are they going to do for us. they told us NOTHING since we were crew!! we found 2 different agents and told them we were on PAID tickets, not standby, we are full fare paying passengers. after an hour of fighting we won a hotel for the night, food vouchers (dinner and breakfast), and $400 travel vouchers (i gave to my parents since i HATE delta). we just couldnt get the checked bags back. 2 agents were great that we dealt with, the others were awful

If you were involuntarily bumped, Delta HAS to pay you cash by law. I suggest you contact a travel ombudsman to help you get what you're due.

Delta told us that they were telling people they were voluntarily bumping (just so they wouldnt have to do squat for us). They had to downsize the aircraft, which put 20 people on standby (other plane was broke) they actually said in the beginning that it wasn't their fault, the reason for a smaller aircraft was beyond deltas control (im sorry, but mechanical? yeah its kind of deltas problem lol) we were just so tired and over everything we just wanted a hotel and try again the next day to get home. it happend a while ago, not even worth going back, plus we didnt pay for the ticket, our company did. whats done is done. at the time we were happy with the outcome ( i still am) the only thing i lost was 1 of my days off.
