Angry AA not customer friendly

I supposed to fly out of DFW yesterday, flying to Hong Kong via LAX (final destination is KL). A massive rain storm pounded the Dallas area that caused many flight delays at DFW. I think a number of flights were cancelled.

My flight was at 10:50pm to LAX. Due to the cancellations, AA delayed my flight for over an hour... to 12:10am. With this delay, I no longer have ample time to make my connection at LAX to HK. I try to call AA to discuss my options with them (at 6:30pm). AA customer service is really, really backed up. On hold for 20 minutes before I talk to my first agent... she says she can't help me as I have an International connection. She transfers me to International agent.... another 30 minutes on hold... I then talk with another agent and she can not help me as my flight from DFW-LAX was an upgrade and I was flying first class. I told her I don't care what class of service I'm in, I just need to get to HK. She transfers me again the advantage Int'l.... 50 minutes later I finally talk to an agent that can help me .

She tells me that the best i can do is arrive in KL 24 hrs late. I said that I will then be 5 hours late for a meeting I need to attend. She said... let me see if I can get my manager's approval to put you on another carrier. 10 minute delay. Came back, sorry we can do that. I said why?. She said it was weather related. My flight delay was not due to the weather. The flight delay was an economic decision made be AA to accomodate Dallas passengers that we arriving late to DFW due to the weather. I was flying AA or AA co-share flights all the way to KL. Now I am 24 hrs late, with no compensation from AA (upgrade not available from DFW-LAX either). I don't understand why AA could not put me on another US carrier's flight to get me to LAX in time for my flight. That, at least to me, was not a weather related delay.

I'm now arriving 24 hrs late, missing a large part of a customer meeting, with absolutely zero compensation from AA. I can't wait to board the AA flight tonight and listen to the in-flight AA advertising clip "At AA we know you have many places you can go and many airlines that can take you there... we are happy you chose to fly on AA! For that we Thank you (Agent)... Thank you(mechanic)... Thank you(pilot)... Thank you (attendant)!" What do I have to be Thankful for?!?! The ticket was quite expensive and I'm arriving 24 hours late and AA does not seem to care
