First Flight of Day 2 Hours late
My wife and I boarded flight 522 from San Francisco to Newark on November 3, 2012. 10 minutes after boarding we were asked to deplane because inspection had not been done on the aircraft. We were allowed to reenter the aircraft 90 min. later. It took another 30 min. to find a tractor to push the plane away from the terminal.
Our auburn haired middle-aged flight attendant with no name tag was rude, as well the left side of the plane were offered wraps and sandwiches, we were offered junk snacks on the other side.
Because of the delay of the flight we missed our connecting flight in Newark. We stayed overnight in the Newark, after waiting outdoors in the cold an hour for a very late shuttle, (because of the hurricane induced gasoline shortage), and boarded a United plane the following morning to reach Portland, Maine. On this flight as well we were allowed to reach the airplane door and called back because United had failed to produce a flight
attendant for that flight.
United's appreciation service online offered us a $75 "gift" for a future United flight. NO THANK YOU UNITED. I may fly with them again as they seem to have less complaints than others but they sure will not be my first choice. Michael J. Bushey
