I've tried to love Air Canada. I've flown them between NY-Toronto-Shanghai so many times. There are some things to like (mainly flat beds in biz). But everything else is so "minor league". They have lost luggage, cancelled flights after waiting 5 hours to do so, waited for passengers at LGA which made the flt so late that I missed connections in Toronto (no waiting here for passengers), their lounge food is almost inedible, their staff at LGA is belligerent (and also not staffed properly), they seem to forget their own flight schedules and don't plan for resources accordingly, etc. I use them as a United substitute thinking they've got to be better than United; but lately flying United I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just hoping rather than seeing any real evidence. As a national airline they're protected; they need to be put in real competition within Canada and out. Sadly, they're the worst global airline I fly (with the notable exception of China Eastern).
