american eagle nightmare
Worst trip ever. Dec 25, 2012 Seattle to Baltimore, we are a family of 5. The first leg of the flight was great, Alaska airline SEA to ORD. Then we were on American Eagle 4256 from ORD to BWI. Over Ohio the pilot declared an emergency. We were told to take all sharp objects out of our pockets and pray. We were then given instruction on opening the emergency doors. We landed in Columbus OH with out incident, at 11:30 pm Dec 25. By the time they take care of us it is 2:00 am when we arrive at the hotel, We were told to be back for a 9:00am departure Dec 26. we get little to no sleep and arrive, 7:30 am Dec 26, back at Columbus airport to find the flight has been delayed to 10:30am. American Eagle continues to delay the flight for various reasons. At noon we finally board the plane. On push back the pilot tells us they have a flight instrument problem and we are not leaving. They try to fix the plane again. At 4:00pm Dec26 they cancel the flight. There is a terrible snow storm raging at this point. The American Eagle agent is taking hours trying to rearrange travelers and get hotel rooms. They can no longer find rooms. We get our bags and head for car rentals. $343.77 later all 5 of us are driving through the storm in an SUV, We drive 10 hours in a blizzard with very little to no sleep in the last 42 hours. We arrive at our destination 2;00 am Dec 27. We get a little sleep and have to return to BWI to take to rental car back. We were told to email American Eagle costumer service to see if they could compensate us. It is Jan19 2013 and we have not herd a word. I am at a loss for words at this point.
