Upon arriving at Phoenix/Mesa Gateway airport I noticed that the young lady who was checking us in was very "out of it" sort of sleepy looking with virtually no I contact or not totally recovered from a drug party?
This official of Allegiant Airlines sent us to Gate 3 where we waited, and waited, then we heard that the flight to Missoula was closing out boarding at Gate 7! My wife is disabled and walks very slow, so we moved as fast as we could to the new gate about 80 yards away. We had paid for PRIORITY BOARDING but the flight was already full, and we had to search for overhead storage. The plane was a very, very old MD80 from the 1970's and the overhead bins only take regulation size bags stored horizontally which meant that the aircraft didn't have enough space for everyones carry-ons. Also we were told to be at the Airport at 4 AM which is three hours before scheduled take-off. However there were very few passengers in the terminal building at all!!! I really needed an additional hour of sleep that morning. We only flew Allegiant because we had a $600 dollar voucher to use before it quickly expired. On another flight with Allegiant last March returning from Hawaii the aircraft was very dingy, filthy and dirty looking and definetly in need of a complete renovation. The Pilot on the aircraft was so short I'm sure she had to stand on the seat to look out the window.. really! Stay away from Allegiant they are the worst airline I have ever flown on in my 50 years of flying. The crews are OK, but the company is the worst ever. |

Pretty harsh to make accusations of drug use off the cuff like that. Also keep in mind that that 1970's MD80 didn't enter airline service until October 1980 the earliest... Hence the name... MD 80

I have flown in many civilian and military aircraft and the MD80 in question sounded worse than the 70's earlier version especially while moving into position for take-off.
Most of the TSA agents I have dealt with have been good, but on my last trip back from Phoenix the checkin agent stated in a grouchy voice " you have the wrong boarding pass you are carrying the checked baggage" x*ya/#0&! WHAT was he talking about...the airline agent took the checked baggage??? As a result of my two terrible Allegiant round trip flights to Phoenix and Honolulu I will never fly commercially again, and I don't think I am being to harsh at all in any way! Strike three from Allegiant was the low $190 voucher for having to wait over 12 hours at a cramped gate, when they could have sent another aircraft instead, but they chose to send an obvious just out of avionic's school technician from Las Vegas who took 5+ hour to fix a problem that should have taken 30 minutes according to Alligiant...... |
