Aeromexico 9/15/13 connecting flight 632
I would like to make a complaint about Aeromexico. I usually do not do this, but I feel strongly enough about this issue to let the public know and to be wary. I made an emergency reservation for my husband on September 8, 2013 due to a death in the family. His flight went smoothly leaving from SAT to Guadalajara. It was the return flight that was another matter. He stayed the night before at a hotel by the airport for fear of missing his flight. He made the flight from Guadalajara (@ 7:35 am. September 15, 2013 flight 467) to Mexico City without any mishaps. On the connecting flight it was another matter (connecting departure 11:08 am. flight 632). Usually on American flights the boarding pass has the Gate number listed for the connecting flight. Aeromexico did not have this. My husband asked the employees of Aeromexico where the gate was and they would tell him that they wouldn't know until a half hour before boarding time. Then when they finally told him, it was almost time to board. He asked the attendants when should he be at the gate to board the plane. The response was "oh we'll make an announcement when it is time". My husband goes to the bathroom when the announcement was made. The announcement was only made once and when he arrived at the gate the attendant told him, along with 6 other passengers that they could not board the flight. This was within 2 minutes of the announcement. The gate was still open for passengers to board. They were told that they just needed to go back to ticketing to receive another boarding pass for the next flight. Aeromexico omitted the part that everyone had to pay another full round trip ticket in order to get into the next flight. There were several women of the six remaining passengers that burst into tears. My husband as well as several other passengers stated that if this was so, then they might as well purchase a ticket from another airline. Aeromexico quickly changed their tune and said that a one way ticket can be purchased for half the price. This was after an elderly couple was sent off to pay the full ticket. My husband called me and I had to purchase a one-way ticket so that he could come back. This is obviously a policy of the Airline to pretty much scam the customer. Mine is not the only complaint and hopefully the six passengers that were left behind will come forward someday. I do believe that the only way a change could happen if that enough people come forward with their experiences. I imagine my husbands' was not the only one.
