tampa to philadelphia in 36 hours with my babies
I was flying from Tampa to Philadelphia on Friday 12/20/2013 at 11:09 flight number ua439 united airlines with my 2 kids ,3 years old son and 18 months daughter , I should have a connection at Cleveland Ohio that where started my nightmare. departure from Ohio was scheduled 4:14 ,united started to delay the flight every hour until they said it was cancelled after 5 hours all that waiting time with my young children tired at their sleeping time I put the oldest in the stroller and holding my daughter with one arm , I run out of diapers and all their needs. I went to united airlines customer service after a long line the agent told me that they have a flight in 2 days the 22nd, I said I can't stay in Ohio I don't know anyone here , she said they have a flight next day 21st but will make a connection at Newark and that's the only thing they can do , I accepted I had no choice , they booked a hotel for me. next day flight number ua4122 departure scheduled at 4:59 pm they announce delay for one hour , when I was boarding the agent at the gate told me I will miss the plane going from Newark to Philadelphia at 7:30 pm oh my god what should I do he said to go to the customer service when I was lifting my exhausted kids to walk down at that huge airport to the customer service another lady agent called me madam and she said I can catch the plane because the first agent was looking at the old schedule I said sure I can catch it she confirmed yes. when I arrived Newark the flight with us airways was gone I was running all the airport with my sleepy and tired kids to go to united airlines desk, the agent there said we can't do anything but give you a flight tomorrow 22nd , I depressed seeing my kids crying I was crying don't know what to do I said no way I want to go home I asked if there is another transportation I can take like a taxi she said we will not pay for a taxi it will be on your own charge I can get you a train ticket and it will be 9:30 pm I accepted I had no choice too. when I'm writing now I feel my heart hurting when I remember all what my kids and I had gone through.
what about my bags I asked she gave me the baggage info number to call. I took the air train arrived at the train station my daughter without jacket at that freezing cold I cover her with my coat my kids were sleepy and hungry at 9 pm after two days travelling. when I get in the train didn't find seat until a gentlemen give me his seat I stayed all the travelling time my kid on my lap . the day after I called the baggage info they put me on hold for 1 hour so I decided to go to the airport to get my bags they said they are still at Newark and they will send a request I will receive them in 24 hours , my kids and I with the same clothes for 3 days , they get cold after the train experience their medications in the bag, driving without car seats, I bought pajamas and clothes for my children , new expenses that wasn't in the program .now 12/26/2013 after 6 days calling everyday twice ,put on hold for 1 hour asking for my bags and I didn't receive them yet.
